OLYMPIA, Wash. - Portland CC women's basketball struggled to score in the 4th quarter at South Puget Sound today, resulting in a 51-37 loss on the road.
The Panthers scored just four points in the final period, turning a 33-31 lead after three quarters into a 14-point loss. PCC made just 2 of 11 attempts from the floor, while the host Clippers heated up to 9 of 18 to pull away.Â
For the game, the Panthers hit 13 of 49 shots for 27 percent overall, while making 6 of 22 tries from behind the arc.Â
"We played hard and really competed today, but the shots just weren't falling for us," said coach Graham McFall. "An area we must improve is rebounding, as we gave up 17 offensive rebounds. We'll address some things in practice, and the shots will start to go in as the season progresses."
Madilyn Meadows led PCC with nine points and five rebounds. Tynesha Parnell added eight points and two assists.
