TACOMA, Wash. - Portland CC women's basketball earned their 4th win of the season with a 62-51 win at Tacoma CC yesterday.
The Panther defense was on display during the game, holding the host Titans to just 25 percent shooting on the night. The 4th quarter was key, as Portland put a blanket on TCC, allowing just two field goals which allowed PCC to pull away for the 11 point victory,
The first half saw a slight edge for the Panthers, as they built a 35-27 lead. Tacoma was determined to make a better showing on their home floor after halftime, cutting the deficit to just one point (39-38) after a trey from Shiho Isono. A 6-0 run from PCC provided a cushion, and the Panther defense would not allow the home team to get closer than five points the rest of the way.
India Gultry is gaining confidence as the season progresses, and the sophomore tossed in a season high 21 points for PCC.Â
Post player Iris Cubit made a welcome return from injury, adding 8 points and 8 rebounds.
