LYNNWOOD, Wash. - A trip north for PCC women's basketball resulted in a pair of losses at the NWAC Crossover hosted by Edmonds CC last weekend.
GAME 1
Friday's matchup featured Green River CC, and the Panthers were on the wrong end of a 62-53 score.
The Panthers started strong, leading 15-9 after the first quarter. The action continued to favor PCC heading into the 4th quarter, but the Gators erased the four point lead that PCC enjoyed and went on to win the period 23-10 and the game by nine points.
Iris Cubit was her usual force inside for 19 points and 11 rebounds. Ashley Aughterson added 10 points.
GAME 2
The 4th quarter was once again the Achilles heel for Portland, as a close game versus North Idaho went wrong late in a 71-59 loss.
A strong 2nd quarter game PCC a slim lead at halftime (36-35), and PCC trailed by just one point heading into the final stanza. The Panther shooting touch went cold at that point (2 of 11 in the 4th), which allowed the Cardinals to steadily pull away for the win.
Tynesha Parnell led PCC with 13 points, helped by a season high from Danielle Llamas at 11 points off the bench.
