ALBANY, Ore. - After a disappointing loss yesterday, Portland CC bounced back for a 54-43 win over Edmonds CC today at the Roadrunner Classic hosted by Linn-Benton CC.
The Panther defense was key to the result, holding the Tritons to just 26Â percent (15 of 58) for the game. PCC was better from the floor at 40 percent, and used a big 3rd quarter to pull away.
India Gultry came alive with 8 points in the period, helping PCC turn a 21-21 lead into a 39-26 advantage heading into the final quarter.
The result came despite 24 turnovers from the Panthers, which was offset by 18 giveaways by Edmonds. PCC also owned the rebounding battle, winning that stat category 40 to 25.
Madilyn Meadows continued her strong start to the season with 15 points, Gultry finished with a season high 14.
