PORTLAND, Ore. - The South Region Champion Portland CC women's soccer team saw their season end with a 7-0 loss to Clark today at the Rock Creek Campus.
It just was not the Panthers day, as a bad start turned into a worse finish for PCC.Â
The Panthers committed a foul in the box in the 5th minute, giving up a penalty kick. With the momentum on the visitors' side, PCC gave up another goal in the 14th minute.Â
The Panthers were able to find their footing for a 15Â minute stretch, but the match really turned in the 31st minute. After committing a foul as the last defender, Nyah Jalof was sent off leaving the Panthers down a player for the duration of the game. From there, the Penguins scored three more in the first half which made the outcome all but certain.
PCC adjusted their tactics for the second half, but Clark's man advantage paid off with two more goals to solidify the win and advance to the NWACÂ semifinals.
The Panthers can hold their head high as they finish the season with a 10-5-0 record and South Region Title.
