BELLEVUE, Wash. - A six point lead for Portland CC at halftime evaporated in the opening moments of the second half, leading to a 84-73 loss at Bellevue today.
The Panthers enjoyed a 39-33 lead after 20 minutes of action thanks to solid shooting and dominance on the glass. PCC outrebounded the host Bulldogs 17-9 in the period.
BC made the proper adjustments during the break, and after play resumed they evened the score just two minutes into the period at 43-43.
A three pointer from Marcus Collins restored the advantage for the Panthers, but Bellevue reclaimed the lead moments later and slowly pulled away as the game unfolded.
The gap reached as many as 11 points (74-63) with 5:55 to play, but a quick 6-0 run from PCC gave the visitors hope for a comeback. The Panthers would get no closer however, as Bellevue made several clutch shots down the stretch to eventually claim the win.
