LONGVIEW, Wash. - Portland CC visited Lower Columbia College last night, and came away with a thrilling 74-72 win at Myklebust Gym.
The host Devils are ranked #2 in the first NWAC men's basketball poll, and the result breaks an 11 home game winning streak by LCC.

Portland held a slim lead for much of the game, and enjoyed a seven point advantage with 1:28 left. LCC rallied late, and hit a three with six seconds left. After a foul on the ensuing Panther possession, Marcus Collins missed the first of two free throws giving the Devils had a chance with five seconds left. Emannuel Steward raced down the court and got a good look at a runner. The ball hit the rim, went up into the air for what seemed like an eternity, but fell off. The Panthers survived for the win.

Portland was led by the 19 points each for Israel Edwards and Josiah Sewell. Josh Lincoln came off the bench to add 14 points and seven rebounds.

A key stat for the game - Portland was 21 of 26 at the free throw line. The Devils were 8 for 14 at the stripe.
