SALEM, Ore. - Portland went to Chemeketa with a chance to solidify their playoff position, but suffered a 68-51 loss to the Storm yesterday.
The Panthers had trouble scoring versus a Chemeketa defense that packed the lane. Trying to solve the Storm defensive scheme, PCC was forced to shoot from distance but managed to make just 1 of 21 tries from three point range.
Despite the struggles, PCC trailed just 51-42 heading into the 4th quarter and hoped to make a game winning comeback. It was not to be as the ball would not go in the hoop for the Panther ladies.
Iris Cubit bullied inside for 16 points and 11 rebounds, leading PCC on the night. Nia Bradley added 13 points.
The post season outlook is still positive for Portland, as they sit in 4h place at 6-5 in the NWAC South standings with five games to play.
