PORTLAND, Ore. - Lisa Albarran scored three goals, leading Portland CC to a 5-0 win over Umpqua CC yesterday at the Rock Creek Campus.
Albarran raised her season goal tally to six, and the Panthers improved to 2-0 in region play after their second emphatic win.
The action on the field was affected by gusty winds, making for difficult conditions for all players but particularly precarious for goalkeepers.
The first goal came early, as Albarran found the net after a corner kick in the 7th minute.
Ava Martins added another goal in the 36th minute, allowing PCC to go into the halftime break with a 2-0 lead.
Mya Smith scored her 3rd goal of the season just after halftime, as her shot from distance was too much for the Riverhawk goalkeeper to handle.
Albarran closed out the scoring with goals in the 51st and 64th minutes.
