PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland CC battled Rogue CC to a 0-0 stalemate after 90 minutes of action at Rock Creek Fields yesterday.
The high winds made any planned tactical strategies difficult to accomplish, as any long passes and direct play were knocked down or blown away by the gusts.
While most of the action was confined to the space between the 18 yard lines, goalkeepers for both teams were called into service.
Matthew McKedy made three saves for the host Panthers, which included stopping a swerving shot from Isaac Herrera. McKedy pushed the blast from distance up onto the bar and out for a corner kick.
Osprey keeper Giovanni Rodriuez made two saves to earn his clean sheet as well.
PCC will head to Chemeketa next Wednesday as Southern Region play continues.
