PORTLAND, Ore. - PCC hoped to use a home contest to establish some consistent play, but fell to Chemeketa 72-69 in NWAC South Region action at the Cascade campus.

Defense ruled the first half, as neither team could find much scoring success. The host Panthers managed to eke out a 26-25 lead at the break, but shooting percentage for both teams hovered around 40 percent.

The game loosened up in the second half and shots began to fall. The margin for the visiting Storm was small, but a quick 6-0 run that made the score 48-43 in favor of Chemeketa was the difference. The team from Salem would not trail again and held off every attempt from Portland to make the comeback.

Ambrose Johnson got the start for Pcc and responded with a team high 21 points. Hayden Rose played all 40 minutes, and tossed in 20 points.
