PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland put forth a solid defensive effort on the way to an important region win over Mt. Hood CC yesterday, 56-48.
The Panthers held the visiting Saints to 29 percent shooting for the game (17-59), and just 1 of 19 from three point range.Â
Better success in scoring from PCC (36 percent) made an impact, and Portland was pushed over the top thanks to clutch contributions from the reserves.
Lhaya Powers scored a season best 10 points off the bench, which included three important baskets in the decisive 4th quarter. Skylar Baldonado (6), Sara Kate Hicks (7), and Shaydee Gunnell (5) also provided quality minutes when called upon.
