Surging Panthers Defeat SWOCC in Coos Bay

COOS BAY, Ore. - The Panther men's soccer team took their longest road trip of the year, and came home with a 3-1 win over Southwestern Oregon.

With five wins over their last eight games, Portland has moved solidly into second place in the NWAC South standings (5-5-1, 19 points) with three contests remaining.

The goal scoring came from some familiar faces versus the Lakers, as Ivan Alfaro, Alexis Llamas, and Josue Dolores Lopez each found the net for PCC.

For Alfaro, it was his team leading sixth goal of the season.

The winless Lakers came to play, and did manage to score first in the 28th minute. Oscar Ammons put SWOC up early with his first goal of the year.

Portland responded by way of Alfaro in the 38th minute, then put two more past the Laker keeper in the second half to secure the win.

THe Panthers host league leading Rogue CC on Wednesday Nov. 18 at the Rock Creek Campus.
