Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Panther Men Flying High

OLYMPIA, Wash. - Portland CC men's basketball came home from a very successful NWAC Crossover Tournament after defeating Spokane 108-96. The Panthers won all three contests at the event and have now won five of six.

Jahvari Martino carried much of the scoring load in the tourney, but the Sasquatch focused on limiting his chances in this one. In response, five other Panthers scored in double figures to showcase a total team effort.

This game was also a repeat of a recurring theme for PCC. Portland managed again to build a lead in the first half, then held off all rally attempts in the second. The Panthers led by 10 at halftime (61-51) and then kept that advantage for the final period, this time increasing it to as many as 21 before Spokane made a late surge.

The Panthers were ruthlessly efficient, hitting 55 percent from the field (37 of 68) which included an astounding 22 of 45 from three point range. Spokane also shot the ball well at 53 percent, but made only 12 three pointers in comparison.

Josh Lincoln scored 22 to lead PCC, while his compatriot in the post added 20.
