PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland CC women's basketball team wrapped up their 2022-23 season with a 61-51 win over Southwestern Oregon yesterday at Cascade Gym.
A close game turned in the 4th quarter, as the Panther defense clamped down to hold the visiting Lakers to seven points in the final frame. The effort on that side of the ball allowed PCC to to turn a 47-44 lead into a ten point victory.
Post players Ashley Aughterson (21 points) and Malia Cabigon (17 points) did the most damage offensively, as the Panthers as a team had a solid effort of 4 percent shooting for the game (24 of 55)
Aughterson and Emily Fortin led all players with 10 rebounds each, and that number was a career best for Fortin.
Sophomores playing their final home games for the Panthers were Aughterson, Cabigon, Fortin, Skylar Baldanado, and Shaydee Gunnell. Each were honored before the game.
