Second Half Surge Sends PCC Over Centrailia

PORTLAND, Ore. - A four-goal flurry in the second half allowed Portland CC to turn a close game into a rout versus Centralia College yesterday at the Rock Creek Campus.

The final score of 6-1 was the most goals for the Panthers in a game since the 2018 season.

The first half was competitive, with PCC leading 2-1 after 45 minutes of action. Giovanni Grimaldo opened the scoring in the 34th minute, then Gabriel Matos scored his first of the season just five minutes later.

Jace Brookerson found the net for the visiting Blazers just before the halftime whistle, giving Centralia a lift heading into the break.

The second period belonged to the Panthers, with goals coming from Ivan Alfaro, Grimaldo again, and a brace from Daniel Hernandez.

Eight different Panthers have scored goals for PCC this season, with Alfaro's three leading the team.
