SALEM, Ore. - Portland CC men's soccer earned an important win yesterday on the road, defeating Chemeketa 2-0 in NWAC South play.
The result snapped a four game winless streak for the Panthers, and put the team back in the playoff hunt.
The Panthers did their work in the first half, scoring both goals within 25 minutes.Â
Kaito Thammavong found the net in the 13th minute, then assisted on Alexis Llamas' goal in the 24th minute.
The PCC defense put up a wall from that point, and goalkeeper Joseph Roeper made eight saves to keep the host Storm off the scoresheet.
Portland now sites at 10 points in the NWAC standings (3-5-1), just three points out of second place in the region standings.
