EUGENE, Ore. - Lane CC scored two second half goals to defeat PCC in the final regular season game for both teams yesterday.
With a playoff qualification potentially on the line, the Panther defense put up an organized resistance for much of the game. Lane finally broke through with scores in the 51st and 64th minutes.
Joseph Roeper made six saves in a valiant attempt to keep the Titans off the board.
Despite the result, the Panthers are in the postseason with a 3rd place finish in the NWAC South standings. Chemeketa dropped into a tie with PCC after forfeiting a match (13 points). With Portland holding the tiebreaker over the Storm, the spot falls to the Panthers.
A first round matchup with a strong Clark College team awaits PCC on Wednesday, November 6 at 2:30 pm. Depending on weather and field conditions, the contest will be held either at Clark College campus, or Harmony Sports Complex in Vancouver.
