PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland CC hosted Tacoma today in a NWAC Regional Playoff, falling 2-0 to the Titans and concluding the 2024 season.
Tacoma did their damage in the early moments, scoring both goals inside of 22 minutes played. After an attack down the right side, Amelia Recaro finished a cross into the box that found her open at the six yard area.
Eight minutes later, Madison Coulter latched on to a long pass forward and beat PCC keeper Aleena Calvert one-on-one.
Portland's defense tightened up after that, but the defensive posture also kept the Panthers from attacking forward with any numbers. PCC managed just two shots for the game, as Tacoma's defense was organized and committed.
Calvert was kept busy, as the sophomore made 10 total saves and spent much of the time coming off her line to thwart the Titan forwards before real danger materialized.
The Panthers end the season 6-7-3 overall record, and a 6-4-2 mark in NWAC South Region play.Â
