PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland CC used a dominating first half performance to blow past Blue Mountain CC today in the final game of the NWAC Crossover host by PCC.
The result avenges a season opening loss at BMCC back in early November. This game versus the Timberwolves proceeded quite differently, as the Panthers blasted out to a 22-3 lead and never looked back.
PCC held Blue Mountain scoreless for five minutes, going on a 17-0 run to take complete control of the action in the first half. The Panther defense harassed BMCC ball handlers and scorers into 12 turnovers and 15 percent shooting. Portland held a commanding 47-16 halftime lead.
The second half was much more competitive, but PCC continued their pestering defense and found plenty of spaces to score at the other end.
JahAllah Van got the start today, and responded with a team high 21 points. Daniel James continued his strong play with 13 points and nine rebounds.Â
