TACOMA, Wash. - A season best shooting performance sent Portland CC to a comfortable win at Tacoma CC yesterday, 80-61.
The Panthers connected on their field goal attempts at a 54 percent clip (31-57), the second time this season over the 50 percent threshold.
Portland enjoyed a hot start, hitting hteir first four shots on the way to a 26-15 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. The host Titans were on their heels, trailing 19-4 at one point before recovering.
A lull from PCC in the second quarter allowed TCC to make some headway, with the score reading 38-30 at halftime.
Amelia Echternkamp led the way for Portland in the second half, as the freshman poured in 21 of her 28 points after the break. The scoring binge kept the Panther lead in the double digits for the majority of the half.
BettyAnn Wilson added 15 points, while Kennedy Cook came off the bench to contribute 10 points.
