PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland CC watched a close game get away from them in the second half, resulting in a 77-61 loss to Treasure Valley inside Cascade Gym today.
A solid second quarter allowed the Panthers to erase a 10 point deficit, trailing just 31-30 at halftime. TVCC scored just nine points in the period, and PCC forced five turnovers to get back into the game.
A slow start to the 3rd quarter was the turning point of the contest, as PCC gave the ball away four times in four minutes. The Chukars took advantage for several transition baskets, eventually leading by as many as 17 points.
Portland recovered in the 4th quarter, matching TVCC point for point but could not make a sustained rally. The hosts did manage to claw to within seven points (60-53), but a 9-0 run by the Chukars put the game out of reach.
Raven Parson led PCC with 15 points. Kennedy Cook made her season debut, scoring 10 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
