PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland CC women's soccer put forth their best performance of 2024 with a 2-0 win over Umpqua CC today at the Rock Creek Campus.
Sophomore Karly Murray scored a goal in each half to lead the Panther attack that outshot the visiting Riverhawks 16-2 for the game.
Barely a minute passed after the opening kick before PCC got on the board. Murray took a pass from Melanie Alcantar Lopez and was on target with her attempt.
Murray scored again just after halftime with a well placed penalty try.Â
Goalkeeper Aleena Calvert registered her second shutout of the season, but she did not have much to do. The Panther defense was organized and stingy, allowing just two shots and one corner kick for the game.
The result puts Portland on the top of the NWAC South standings at 2-1.Â
