VANCOUVER, Wash. - Portland CC turned a close game versus Clark into a comfortable win 89-70 thanks to a dominant 2nd half.
The teams fought to a standstill over the 20 minutes of action in the 1st half. JahAllah Van was the key player for PCC, as he put up 12 points of the bench to help the Panthers to a 39-37 lead.
The second half saw Portland shoot 57 percent from the floor and out rebound the Penguins 20-13. Clark shooters went cold, making just 31 percent of their attempts.Â
Portland's lead steadily grew over the period, with the gap reaching a high of 21 points just before the final buzzer.
Daniel James was a force, as the post player scored with a variety of drives and post moves. He finished with a game high 27 points while grabbing 10 rebounds. Van added 19 points in a solid performance off the bench.Â
