OLYMPIA, Wash. - Portland CC used a 19-2 run at the beginning of the second haf to pull away from Bellevue College, eventually cruising to a 98-82 win.
The first half was a competitive battle, with the Bulldogs using a 60 percent shooting performance to lead 49-45 at the break. PCC kept the score close thanks to their own scoring efficiency (55 percent) and a 6 of 12 effort from the three point line.
After halftime, the Panthers came out firing. Chrales Manigo capped the 19-2 run with a three pointer, and Portland was firmly in control. Jackson Leach poured in 22 points in the second half, while Jace VanVoorhis added 10 while the team hit 18 of their 30 shot attempts.Â
On the other end, Bellevue cooled off considerably as Panther defenders harassed them into a 35 percent performance.Â
Leach ended the day with a team high 27 points. Vashon Hardges quietly hit for 20 points and grabbed a team high seven rebounds. VanVoorhis added 18 points and eights assists.
