Playoff Defeat Ends Season for PCC Women

PASCO, Wash. - The Panther women's soccer team put forth a valiant effort, but fell to #4 Columbia Basin 2-0 in a playoff matchup yesterday.

The Panthers were ready to compete despite the long bus trip, and played the Hawks to a 0-0 stalemate in the first half. Evelyn Hollingsworth made four saves to keep the home team off the scoreboard.

CBC used their deep bench to their advantage in the second half, as fresh legs proved to be a deciding factor in the outcome. The field tilted in favor of the Hawks who scored their game winner in the 60th minute, then added an insurance goal in the 74th minute. Hollingswoth made four more saves but could not keep the Hawks off the board.

The result ends the season for PCC with a 7-4-3 record, which is the most wins for the program under coach Shawn Bundy, and most since 2022.
