PASCO, Wash. - It was a repeat of an unwanted refrain for Portland CC men's basketball on Saturday, as the host team Columbia Basin cruised to a 91-63 win over the Panthers.
The first half was a stretch of play to forget for the second game in a row, as PCC found themselves facing a big deficit heading into the locker room. This time the gap was 53-29 as shooting woes resurfaced. The Panthers shot 36 percent overall and just 1 of 12 from three point range.
Also once again, Portland was much improved in the second half but could not make any sustained rallies to mount a serious comeback.
Jace VanVoorhis (14) and Jackson Leach (11) were the only Panthers in double figure scoring. Bas Corion came off the bench to score a season best 8 points in 14 minutes of action.
