Panthers Welcome Chelsea Stocks as Head Women's Basketball Coach

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Community College is pleased to announce that Chelsea Stocks has been named Head Women's Basketball Coach for the 2025-26 season and beyond.

Stocks arrives from California State-Fullerton, where she was an assistant coach for three seasons. She provided leadership in recruiting, academic progress, scouting, and player development for the NCAA Div. I program.

Stocks also spent several seasons at the NCAA Div. III level, assisting at Claremont-McKenna (five seasons) and Caltech (one season). She also had a stint as the head girls basketball coach at Brea Olinda High School.

"We are so happy to have Chelsea Stocks join our department as head coach," said Athletic Director Tony Broadous. "We were fortunate to have several strong candidates, but Chelsea stood out with her commitment to student success and her recruiting background at the college level. Under her leadership, our athletes will be supported in every way during their time as a Panther."

Stocks earned a B.A. in Sport Management from Washington State University, and a M.A. in Sport Psychology/Kinesiology from Long Beach State University.

"I'm honored and excited to take on the role of Head Women's Basketball Coach at Portland Community College," said Stocks. "Thank you to Tony Broadous and the entire search committee for trusting me with this opportunity. I'm looking forward to building a strong, competitive program where our players grow as athletes and as people. More than anything, I want this to be a fun, rewarding experience for everyone involved — where we work hard, support each other, and take pride in what we're building together."
