OREGON CITY, Ore. - Aurora Hammerstedt scored a goal in each half, sending Portland CC to a 2-0 win over Clackamas today at Pioneer Field.
Hammerstedt's first came in the 18th minute. Ellis Shastsilouskaya made an attack towards goal from the right side, and was fouled in the box. Hammerstedt stepped to the spot and finished smartly to give PCC the lead.
That's where the score stood for another 60 minutes, until Hammerstedt took matters into her own hands. The sophomore midfielder received the ball 30 yards from goal, sliced through the Cougar defense using the dribble, then placed he ball into the lower right corner to double the Panther lead.
Evelyn Hollingsworth made eight saves and combined with the Portland defense to keep Clackamas off the score sheet.
