PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland protected their home court versus a strong Clackamas team yesterday, securing the win 89-66 yesterday at Harold Williams Court.

The visiting Cougars were 11-5 coming into the game with some quality wins on their resume, but the Panthers pestered them into 16 turnovers and a 42 percent shooting percentage.

PCC enjoyed a stellar shooting night from inside and out, hitting 10 of 22 from behind the arc and 30 of 61 overall. The aggressive offense also paid off with a 19 of 26 mark from the free throw line.

Portland used a solid first half to lead 45-38 at the break, but pulled away steadily in the second half. The final margin was the largest lead of the game for the hosts.

Jackson Leach led PCC with 21 points and five assists. Jace VanVoorhis continued his improved play by adding 17 points and four assists. Luke Jessup (15) and Jaxson Spafford (12) also reached double figures.
