PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland CC was unable to slow down the NWAC's top ranked team, falling to #1 Clackamas 96-36 yesterday at the Cascade Campus.
The disparity in shooting was the key factor, as the visiting Cougars connected at a 47 percent clip (39-82), while the Panthers mustered a 26 percent performance (14-54).
The first quarter was especially challenging for PCC, as Clackamas raced out toa 29-5 lead. Portland settled into the game somewhat from there and generated some good looks at the basket but could not find the range.
Emily Henderson was a bright spot for the Panthers, scoring 16 points which included four three pointers. Kamakila Waiwaiole added eight points and 10 rebounds.Â
