SALEM, Ore. - Portland CC couldn't find the scoring punch needed during a 69-43 loss at Chemeketa yesterday on the road.
The Panthers were very much in the game throughout the first half of play, and trailed just 22-19 after a Claudia Arellano jump shot with 6:10 to play in the 2nd quarter. The host Storm responded with three straight three pointers to pull away and lead 33-21 at the break.
Trying to keep pace, PCC made the score 45-32 with six straight points in the 3rd quarter, but Chemeketa answered again and pushed their advantage out to 20 points heading into the final period.
The Panthers shot 31 percent for the game (16 of 52), and 2 of 14 from three point range.Â
Emily Henderson and Udoka Amadi led PCC with 11 points each. Amadi completed her double-double by grabbing 12 rebounds also.
