EUGENE, Ore. - PCC women's basketball faed a powerful Lane CC team, coming away with a 90-40 loss in Eugene today.
The Panthers fell behind early verus the NWAC's second ranked team, trailing 31-11 after the 1st quarter.
Portland grew into the game somewhat in the 2nd quarter, scoring 17 points and getting to the free throw line for a 7 of 8 effort.
The host Titans led 54-28 at halftime and increased the advantage through the 3rd period to a high of 40 points (78-38) heading into the final stanza. Early MVP candidate Maitlan Young led Lane with 33 points.
PCC matched Lane point for point in the 4th quarter featuring reserves from both teams. Three Panthers finished the game in double figure scoring. Bregan Ruhland led with 13 points, with Emily Henderson and Claudia Arellano adding 12 and 10 points respectively.
