PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland CC ran their winning streak to four in a row with a 3-0 shutout of Southwestern Oregon yesterday at the Rock Creek campus.
The Panthers did their damage early, scoring all three goals within the first 20 minutes of the first half.
Ema Streng capitalized on a breakaway, chipping a shot over the keeper from 15 yards out just seven minutes into the game. Streng added a second goal in the 14th minute, taking advantage of a misplay in the back by the Laker defense and tapping in from 12 yards away.
At the 19:48 mark, Lexi Taggart got her first goal of the season in style, taking a centering pass from Allison Wikstrom and blasting in a shot from the top of the box.
PCC was unable to tack on any more goals despite 15 total shots and eight corner kicks. The SWOC defense refocused, clogging the middle of the pitch and limiting good opportunities.
