ALBANY, Ore. - The offense never got rolling for Portland CC yesterday on the road, leading to a 52-33 loss at Linn-Benton.
The Panthers managed just 13 field goals on 63 attempts - a season low performance of 21 percent. The team generated some good opportunities, and also grabbed 18 offensive rebounds but the points did not materialize.
A silver lining was the defensive effort by PCC, as they held the host Roadrunners to just 26 percent - a season low by any opponent.
Thanks to that stubborn defense, Portland trailed just 33-27 toward the end of the 3rd quarter. Unfortunately PCC could tally just three more field goals the rest of the way, allowing LBCC the room to pull away.
Bregan Ruhland was the lone Panther to reach double figures with 10 points. Jaylyn Arosemena made her season debut, scoring 7 points and grabbing four rebounds.
