Brendan Ritschard enters his fifth season on the Portland Community College coaching staff, and 1st season as the head coach. He brings a unique perspective as both a championship-winning alumnus and a dedicated assistant coach. A fundamental part of one of the most successful eras in Panthers history, Brendan Ritschard has been instrumental in cementing PCC as a premier contender in the NWAC.
Over the past three seasons serving under Head Coach Cameron Mitchell, Brendan Ritschard helped guide the Panthers to an unprecedented level of success. During this historic stretch, the program achieved the most wins in any three-year span in school history, highlighted by:
- Two NWAC Southern Region Championships
- Back-to-back NWAC Elite Eight appearances
- An NWAC Final Four finish
Prior to his tenure with Coach Mitchell, Brendan Ritschard began his collegiate coaching career under the mentorship of Tony Broadous, transitioning immediately from the court to the sidelines to develop the next generation of PCC student-athletes.
Brendan’s roots at Portland Community College run deep. As a student-athlete at Portland Community College, he was a key factor in the program's success, leading the Panthers to an NWAC Southern Region Championship and a Final Four appearance.Â
Following Brendan’s time as an athlete at PCC, he went on to play at the Division 2 and 3 level for Concordia University and George Fox University. His commitment to the "student" in student-athlete is reflected in his own academic achievements; he holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance and a Master of Arts in Teaching, both from George Fox University.
