Chelsea Stocks enters her first season leading the Portland Community College Panthers women’s basketball program. She comes to Portland after three seasons as an assistant coach at NCAA Division I Cal State Fullerton, where she was involved in every aspect of the program—player development, recruiting, scouting, game preparation, and day-to-day operations.
A Southern California native, Coach Stocks brings nearly two decades of coaching experience at a variety of levels. Before her time at CSUF, she served as head coach at Brea Olinda High School from 2020–2022, guiding the program to a conference championship in just her second season.
Her college coaching career includes the 2019–2020 season as an assistant at Caltech in Pasadena, where she helped mentor standout players such as 2020 Caltech Scholar-Athlete of the Year and All-Region honoree Grace Peng, and SCIAC Newcomer of the Year Sahana Saikumar.
Coach Stocks began her collegiate coaching journey at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, where she held two assistant coaching stints totaling six seasons (2012–2016, 2017–2019). During her time with the Athenas, the team captured multiple SCIAC regular-season titles (‘14, ‘15, ‘16, ‘18, ‘19), SCIAC Tournament championships (‘14, ‘15, ‘16), and NCAA Tournament appearances in three consecutive years.
At the high school level, she also coached at Canyon High School (2006–2013) and Esperanza High School (2016–2017), as well as with several club basketball programs across Orange County, California.
Coach Stocks began her academic journey at Fullerton College, earning her AA before transferring to Washington State University, where she completed her BA in Sport Management in 2011. She later earned her MS in Sport Psychology from Long Beach State in 2016. Along the way, she gained valuable experience working with both WSU and LBSU women’s basketball programs.
