Coach Robin Andrea begins his second season at the helm of Panther women's basketball in 2025-26.
His first season ended just short of a playoff berth, finishing with a 14-15 overall record and a 7-9 mark in the region standings. "We had some injuries that set us back, and a few close losses that hurt our chances," said Andrea. "It was still gratifying to watch the players come together, compete hard every game, and improve as a team."
The focus now for Andrea is recruiting a talented class for next season and beyond. "I am very excited to welcome a new group of players to PCC, and see what we can accomplish together."
Andrea arrived in Portland after three years as the head coach at Yakima Valley College. Taking over a team that won just two games in a COVID shortened season, he turned the Yaks into a very competitive program. YVC qualified for the NWAC Tournament this past season with a 14-12 overall record, posting an 8-6 record in the NWAC East Region. Andrea's team was in the top 5 for scoring in the NWAC, and he coached three All-Region players including the 2022-23 region MVP.
Prior to coaching the women's team at YVC Andrea was an assistant coach for three years at Linn-Benton Community College, helping the Roadrunners to a 20 win season his final year in Albany. He also spent six seasons as an assistant for the Western Oregon University women's and men's basketball programs.Â
