PORTLAND, Ore. - After a thrilling win versus Pierce College on Thrusday to start the Harold Williams Tournament, Portland CC men's basketball spit exhibition games on Friday and Saturday to conclude the weekend's action.
Portland CC 101, Christian Faith BC 84
Friday saw the Panthers face Christian Faith Basketball Club, and came out victorious by the score of 101-84. PCC used their depth to wear down Christian Faith, with 42 points scored by the Panther Bench. Â
George Sadi continued his hot start to the season by dropping in a team high 20 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. Ambrose Johnson and Ryann Ballah both came of the bench and added 16 points each, leading the effort of the reserves.Â
Oregon Waves 109, Portland CC 91
The contest on Saturday belonged to the Waves, who used their superior presence in the lane to claim the 109-91 win. The Panthers kept it close in the first half, matching the Waves point for point and trailing just 51-48 at halftime.
After the break, the Waves started to pound the ball inside by way of Shaun Gaines, who ended the game with 31 points on 12 of 13 shooting - almost all from close range. Several Panthers found themselves in foul trouble, which the Waves used to dominate the painted area.
George Sadi again led the Panther attack, leading PCC with 16 points. Five other Panthers finished with double figure scoring - Trevon Richmond (14), Blake Ling (14), Taylor Howard (12), Ambrose Johnson (11), and Josiah Sewell (11).
Both Christian Faith BC and Oregon Waves rosters consist of former college athletes from around the Northwest.
