EUGENE, Ore. - The PCC men's team came out of the extended break the same way the went in - with a win over a NWAC top 10 team.
The Panthers defeated #5 Lane Community College yesterday, 83-74 thanks to key performances from several players.
Treyvon Richmond led the way with 29 points on 11 of 12 shooting, finishing off one the best single game performances from a Panther in recent memory. The sophomore was a perfect 7-7 in the second half, scoring nine points in the last four minutes of the game to push the Panthers over the hump.
Also contributing to the victory were the combined efforts from the bench players. All five that suited up for the game saw minutes, and scored 30 important points to help hold off a talented Titan squad.
Jean Pierre Mategeko entered the game and immediately scored eight first half points, and ended the game with 13. Tony King added 11 points, nine of which came after halftime and included two big free throws in the final minute to help ice the game.
Blake Ling and Ambrose Johnson also played significant minutes and help the Panthers improve to 8-3 overall.
