PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland CC earned their first NWAC Southern Region win of the season with a 58-53 decision over Chemeketa Community College last night at Cascade Gym.
After playing several games with a Covid depleted roster, the Panthers are slowly getting healthy and welcomed several players back to the lineup versus the visiting Storm.
The teams played the first quarter to a stalemate (16-16), then PCC outscored Chemeketa 13-6 in a decisive second quarter. India Gultry scored 18 of her team high 20 in the first half.
Chemeketa rallied in the 3rd quarter to cut the lead down to two points (44-42), setting up a tense final period.
PCC then turned to Nia Bradley, who dropped in eight points in the 4th quarter and held off the Storm who got no closer than three points (56-53) in the final moments.
Bradley ended the game with 10 points and six rebounds. Gultry added 13 rebounds to her 20 points.Â
