PORTLAND, Ore. - On the last day of 2022, Portland fell in close matchup to Pierce College, 57-53.
The improving Raiders came in with a 2-11 record, but had won two of three before coming to Cascade Gym.
After a strong 2nd quarter, the host Panthers led by three points at halftime (27-24). The Raiders did enough in the second half and made a few plays late in game that pushed them over the top.
Keshara Romain was a force inside for Pierce, scoring 23 and grabbing 13 rebounds. Malia Cabigon did her best to respond for the Panthers, contributing 15 points and seven rebounds.
