VANCOUVER, Wash. - Portland CC dropped their third straight game, falling 86-80 at Clark College yesterday night.
The contest between the NWAC Southern Region foes was close throughout, and PCC did manage to forge a small lead at halftime, 47-45.
The host Penguins were able to pick up their defensive intensity after the break, and harassed the Panthers into a poor shooting half. Clark eventually outscored PCC by eight in the period and claimed the important region win.
Josiah Sewell scored a season high 23 points after coming off the bench. Jaylen Lyday added to the stellar bench play from the Panthers, adding 15 points and eight rebounds.
The Panthers fell to 3-4 in the regions standings, and 10-7 overall.
