GRESHAM, Ore. - Portland CC had trouble finding their scoring range at Mt. Hood CC yesterday, falling 73-65 to the Saints.
The Panthers managed just 35 percent shooting for the game, and hit just two of 16 tries from the three point line.Â
The host Saints were not much better, scoring at a 37 percent clip but did their damage from the free throw line, making 20 of 29 to help secure the win.
PCC trailed by two at halftime (32-30) and looked to break loose in the second half. The Panthers could never gain momentum however, and did not take the lead at any point.
A layup from Jackson Galliardi made the score 53-50 in favor of Mt. Hood, but that was as close at the Panthers would get. The Saints maintained their thin advantage with key baskets and steady free throw shooting.
George Sadi led PCC with 25 points - the lone Panther in double figure scoring. Normally reliable Treyvon Richmond was held to six points and six rebounds by a Mt. Hood defense geared to limit his chances.
