TUKWILA, Wash. - The Panther women's soccer team opened the 2022 season with a 2-2 win over Tacoma CC at the NWAC Friendlies at Starfire Sports Complex.
The Panthers put two goals on the board in the first half. Lisa Albarran opened the scoring just six minutes into the season, which gave PCC the early lead.
Mya Smith added to the advantage in the 38th minute, as the sophomore found the target for her 5th career goal.
Tacoma made it a game early in the second half, as the Titans made the score 2-1 in the 48th minute off the foot of Emily Wulff.
Portland's defense held firm the rest of the way to secure the victory.
PCC will face Peninsula College during the second day of action at the NWAC Friendlies.
