COOS BAY, Ore. - Portland CC women's soccer suffered their first region loss at Southwestern Oregon last Saturday, falling to the Lakers 2-0.
The Panthers had been an offensive juggernaut through their first four region games, outscoring opponents 16-0 on the way to a 4-0 record.
The host Lakers found the right tactics to limit the chances from PCC and held the Panthers to five shots on goal, all of which were saved by keeperAlexis Bates.
Panther keeper Sophie Barr made eight saves for the game, but SWOCC forward Sara Maslouhi scored a goal in each half to send the host team to the important NWAC region win.
PCC is now tied for first in the southern region standings at 4-1, along with Chemketa CC.
