EUGENE, Ore. - Despite a shorthanded roster, Portland earned a hard-fought win over Lane CC on the road tonight, 78-69.
The Panthers overcame a slow start, rebounding from a 7-0 deficit in the first four minutes. Josiah Sewell gave PCC their first lead at 11-10 thanks to a three pointer.
Sewell would go on to shoulder the bulk of the scoring load for the Panthers, finishing with a game high 31 including 25 in the second half.Â
The teams battled through five tie scores and seven lead changes before the Panthers took the lead for good with 1:24Â to play. Josh Lincoln scored a layup to give PCC a 71-69 lead at that point and the host Titans would not score again. Sewell made five of six free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.Â
In addition to Sewell's big night, Lincoln contributed 22 points on 10 of 11 shooting. Jackson Galliardi grabbed 11 rebounds.
