GRANTS PASS, Ore. - Two Panthers scored their first goals of 2023, leading PCC to an important 2-0 road win over Rogue on Wednesday.
Yesenia Gaspar got on the scoresheet with her first goal of the season in the 16th minute, setting the tone for the game.
In the 40th minute, Dayla Chapman got her first of 2023 in emphatic fashion by blasting a 25 yard free kick past the Osprey keeper.
The Panthers ended up with a 14-2 advantage in shots taken, showing the improvement and organization of the defensive line.
The result sets up a showdown versus Clackamas today at the Rock Creek Field. After the victory, PCC sits in 3rd place in the NWAC South Region at 5-4-2 (17 points). Clackamas is right behind in 4th (4-4-3, 15 points). The winner of today's matchup will clinch 3rd place and the final playoff spot. Additionally, the Panthers can also clinch if the result is a draw.Â
