OLYMPIA, Wash. - Portland CC built a 19 point lead in the first half, then cruised to a 113-94 win over Olympic tonight in the first of three games at the NWAC Crossover hosted by South Puget Sound CC.
The Panthers had little trouble scoring the ball, and made 10 three pointers in the first half to spark the offensive explosion. PCC also shot the ball at a 50 percent clip, while holding the Rangers to 44 percent.
The second half saw Olympic attempt to be more aggressive defensively to some success, but another result was more fouls called which sent Portland to the line 34 times in the half. PCC ended the game 33 of 43 from the charity stripe which was a factor in maintaining their advantage in the second period.
Jahvari Martino continued his stellar play with a team high 25 points, including a 11 of 12 effort from the free throw line. Edy Essien and Josh Lincoln added 22 points each.
