PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland CC women's basketball ran their season record to 5-0 after a 72-40 win over Highline last night at Harold Williams Court.
The Panthers got off to a slow start in this one, as the visiting Thunderbirds led 8-4 midway through the first quarter. PCC quickly turned things around however, thanks to a 14-1 run that made the score 20-9 heading into the 2nd period.
From there PCC continued to pull away, holding Highline to 27 percent shooting and winning the rebounding battle decisively 40-20.
Kirsten Martin came off the bench to score a game high 17 points, which included at 5 of 9 effort from three point range. Cara Dinneed was not far away from a triple double, with 11 points, 8 assists, and 9 rebounds.
